An Elusive British Explorer in search of a Mysterious Realm
Fans of intrepid adventurer Dominique Jongbloed will have eagerly followed references to his career that have appeared on this site over past years, in articles by Irna, and – most recently – by Ms. Audrey Tiramisu.
For the benefit of Jongbloed readers whose memories of their hero's career might have grown hazy with the passing of time, Ms. Tiramisu obligingly provides details of some of his more striking achievements. Chief (…)

An undiscovered Pyramid in Romania
Over recent years, and despite protests from those of more orthodox geological and archaeological views, the fame of Visocica, Bosnian “Pyramid of the Sun,” and entrepreneur Semir “Sam” Osmanagic, has spread far and wide, appealing particularly to those who prefer a more imaginative view of history. Consider, for instance, this 2013 example (ro) of an investigator trying to find a suspected date at a supposed ancient site, and believing that the (…)

Introduction
On 30th April 2022, followers of FaceBook group Fraudulent Archaeology Wall of Shame were intrigued to see an item dated a few days previously concerning a find of two very ancient pyramids pre-dating even those of Giza.
But these pyramids were not in Egypt: they were said to be in the Kola Peninsula, Murmansk, Russia, north of the Arctic Circle.
A few observations, some slightly mocking, followed on the Facebook site. One contributor suggested that perhaps this question (…)

Since Fehmi Krasniqi, director of the film K2019 Great Pyramid, does not seem to have time to devote to reading archaeological studies (odd for someone who claims to revolutionize History), here are some photos which are sufficient in themselves to contradict the assertions of this gentleman.
1/ “the natural limestone nummulites are perfectly aligned”
2/ "the Egyptians heated the limestone to prepare concrete”
3/ "the Egyptians made molds to make their statues"

Maybe because of the present infatuation for “natural medicine”, honey is often presented as a kind of panacea, able to cure even cancer.
To these health benefits, honey is said to add another virtue: the ability to stay preserved indefinitely. At least that idea is very present on the internet, including on some very serious websites like that of the Smithsonian:
Modern archeologists, excavating ancient Egyptian tombs, have often found something unexpected amongst the tombs' artifacts: (…)

A newcomer planning to embark on an analysis and evaluation of present day pyramidiot theories is immediately faced with one major obstacle: namely, a bizarre terminology with words whose meanings don't seem to quite fit actual dictionary definitions; some of whose more recent manifestations have apparently been borrowed from the pop/geek culture so prevalent everywhere. It is therefore hardly surprising that a tyro might experience some confusion about the apparent meaning of "troll" in (…)

Bermuda
Tales of "hidden" pyramids never fail to exert a powerful fascination over aficionados of ancient mysteries. One – or, depending on which version we're looking at, two – examples frequently met with concern pyramids supposedly found on the ocean floor off Florida, specifically in the "Bermuda Triangle". The story is generally illustrated with this background image, sometimes in blue, sometimes in green:
and explains that the pyramids are made of glass. That, in its simplest (…)
