Tenement buildings were pock marked with bullet holes and crudely repaired craters from mortar blasts, testimony to the savage war that raged here not two decades ago. Yes, there had been repairs and new buildings had gone up –all windows and glass– but Sarajevo was still recovering from the wounds of its recent past and reminders of the war were abundant.
As my taxi took me to the outskirts of the town, I could not help noticing a huge graveyard which seemed to (…)

As part of an investigation into the Bosnian "pyramids", I was recently interviewed by a site that would probably fall into the "alternative" category. Following apparent pressure or intimidation, the site chose to remove the entire contents of the investigative file. However, I am exercising my prerogative as the owner and administrator of copyright in my own comments to reproduce here, on my website, my replies to the various questions put to me.
Q: Hello, and thank you for agreeing (…)

A Troweller's Tale
The Truth is Way Out There
Anyone who has continued to follow the unfolding chronicle of the Bosnian ‘pyramids' since their ‘discovery' in 2006 will have noted that - apart from the discovery of a mysterious ‘structure' in the Ravne tunnels, SBRG's ultrasound investigations, and their proposal that the hill of Visoko is directing some kind of energy beam into outer space - things have been relatively quiet over the past 18 months or so… One event that did get (…)

It has been a long time since I last updated any information on the tunnels of the Visoko valley, where the situation has changed significantly since 2006, when I wrote my first article. Given that the Osmanagic microcosm is now buzzing with the news of a “great discovery” (bs) inside the Ravne tunnel, now seems an appropriate time to review the facts, their interpretation by Mr. Osmanagic and his supporters, and the various hypotheses about the tunnel's origins.

Since the first appearance in 2006 of the “greatest archaeological site of the century”, the Bosnian "pyramids", Mr. Osmanagic, their finder (or founder?...), has always maintained that the huge slabs of conglomerate (see the article on the geology of the Visoko region) covering the hill of Visocica are the result of human intervention. In the earliest days of the 2006 excavations, a Foundation press release (bs) stated: "There can be no doubt that these blocks of stone were worked by man in (…)

Pyramids in Bosnia?
The charismatic archaeologist, expedition leader, project director, fund-raiser, and author, Semir Osmanagic (in his day job, he's a metalwork contractor in Houston, Texas), has labeled the features the “Pyramid of the Sun,” the “Pyramid of the Moon,” the “Pyramid of the Dragon,” the “Pyramid of Love,” and the “Temple of Earth” (…)

One can actually wonder, seeing some "artifacts" - at least Mr. Osmanagic would probably call them that - that I found in Saint-André de Rosans in the region Hautes-Alpes. I went there to look closer at the stone balls (en), and was quite surprised to encounter, in the same sandstone layers that contain the balls, some phenomena indisputably similar to those Mr. Osmanagic uses in Bosnia to back his hypothesis.
First it is, on the surface of the Serre d'Autruy plateau, the presence of a (…)

According to Mr. Osmanagic, the famous "stone balls" (kamene kugle) can be found only in Bosnia, Mexico and Costa Rica. However, as I have already mentioned here, and here, these particular phenomena are in fact much commoner than generally realized, and can be found on every continent, including Europe. Recently, for example, I discovered that they are also present in France, in Saint-André-de-Rosans in the Hautes-Alpes.
Almost the first sight to greet visitors to Saint-André de Rosans (…)

Despite the lack of excavation authorization on Visocica Hill, Mr. Osmanagic's Foundation is continuing its activities, during this 2007 spring, on the unprotected sites, Pljesevica Hill and the two tunnels of Ravne and KTK (according to the name of the company that owns the place where this second tunnel opens); activities which permit it to announce regularly new discoveries, always wonderful and conclusive. So one could witness, during the month of May, a profusion of new "artifacts"; (…)
