Hi, I am Bosnian and I want to say that Semir pulled a very bad scam here. People should know that he belongs to some sort of a cult, and believes that Maya found a way to go to a different dimension by the use of pyramids. Semir states that his interest in pyramids is solely for that reason - to discover how Maya escaped to other dimension. He writes about this on his web site at www.alternativnahistorija.com, so if you know bosnian go there and read it. At first I thought he was a nut head, but he is not. He is very good businessman and president of Met Co. company (worth some 30 milion dollars). It is just unfortunate that he fell into this cult of "ancient astronauts", UFOs, and pseudo-science (mainly due to his father, who also had similar ideas). Semir has diploma in economy and has nothing to do with archeology. He traveled a lot as a turist, visiting ancient sites in Mexico and central America. His theories are derived from such authors as Eric von Daniken, Graham Hanckok (spelling?), and many other who are not scientists (such as "sleeping Edgar Cyce, etc.) Semir never did any archeological work anywhere. His discovery of "pyramid" in Bosnia is based on eyeballing a hill near Visoko, which "looked like pyramid". Therefore, he never did any work on that site by any means prior to "discovery" (theoretical or practical). I started blog, sosvemirski.blogger.ba to expose his views about religions and educational background so people hopefully can better realise whom they are dealing with. He is very skillfull in getting people on his side by manipulating facts, which is understandable as like I said, he is very good businessman. I jokingly say that he is the only person who could convince pope to marry right away. :) It is economic situation in Bosnia that had some people fall for this charlatanic nonsense. Unfortunately...

Your information is bad.
He is an owner of a failed metal shop in Texas. He robbed his own business for the credit money he got from banks to develop it,
That was his claim for using "his own money to discover pyramids". Ask his ruined ex-wife.
Hi Reality Check,
do you have any source for the financial state of his company? I was wondering how well does this company fare, and how long he will be able to retrieve money from it...
Thanks Amer, I’ll put your blog among the links of this website.
Just one more thing, Amer: you say on your blog that Mr. Osmanagic is a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, when he is in fact a member of the "Russian Academy of Natural Sciences", which is totally different - soon more about this on this website :-)
Irna, yes I know about that but I did not translate it that way for two reasons. First, that university is private and of suspicious quality, so accreditations are a big question mark. Second, if I translated "natural science" to the word-by-word, it would imply that Semir has degree from applied science university (similar to prirodno-matematicki univerzitet, so I did not want to translate word "natural").
I am sorry that he fell into the cult of pseydo-science and just want to point it to other people, so they do not threthen and chase away real profesors on that hill. He brought shame on himself with his wacko ideas and I think it is not fair that people thrust him just because he is Bosnian too, without knowing a whole picture about his education and his views. I do not know if Semir honestly believes in the things he wrote about in his books (like Maya people coming from Pleades). I read in the local Houston paper article about his business success, which is linked on Semir’s web page (http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2008/12/08/smallb1.html?b=1228712400%5e1742861). I do not know if his financial or martial status has changed since (I am not after that).
