  • The Academician, the pyramids and the Moon

Article published on 19 November 2007
    by Irna
Mr. Osmanagic’s Foundation had announced, at the end of July 2007, a visit to Visoko of Russian geophysicists, Professors Khavroshkin and Tsyplakov (news in English (en) and in Bosnian (bs)). Three months later, on the 16th of November, the Foundation website claims (bs) that "the Russian Academicians confirm the existence of the pyramids", and (…)

  • Archaeology at Visoko: the real thing

Article published on 16 September 2007
    by Irna
Table of contents Middle Ages Neolithic Bronze and Iron Ages Ever since the the "pyramids" affair began, Mr. Osmanagic, his team and his supporters, have never stopped repeating the mantra that, as far as orthodox archaeologists were concerned, the Visoko region would be "terra incognita". This enables supporters of the Foundation to claim (…)

The Bosnian Pyramid: a Brief Summary on "A Hot Cup of Joe" "If nothing else can be said, it must be admitted that the Osmanagic PR machine is good. The mainstream media jumped on the story, accepting at face-value what Osmanagic was claiming seemingly without consulting anyone in academia on the issue. Because of this, an interesting (…)

  • "Pyramids" shaped by Romans?

Article published on 29 August 2007
    by Irna
Bosnian "pyramids": hills shaped by Romans, that’s the title of a new blog, created in August 2007, dedicated to the "Bosnian pyramids" : http://omerbashich.blogspot.com/ (en). Not just another pro- or anti- pyramids blog : this one at the same time denounces Mr. Osmanagic’s "amateur digging" and hoaxes, and claims to offer an alternative (…)

  • Did the Bosnian pyramids builders come through France ?

Article published on 22 August 2007
    by Irna
One can actually wonder, seeing some "artifacts" - at least Mr. Osmanagic would probably call them that - that I found in Saint-André de Rosans in the region Hautes-Alpes. I went there to look closer at the stone balls (en), and was quite surprised to encounter, in the same sandstone layers that contain the balls, some phenomena indisputably (…)

  • Stone balls : in France too!

Article published on 21 August 2007
    by Irna
According to Mr. Osmanagic, the famous "stone balls" (kamene kugle) can be found only in Bosnia, Mexico and Costa Rica. However, as I have already mentioned here, and here, these particular phenomena are in fact much commoner than generally realized, and can be found on every continent, including Europe. Recently, for example, I discovered (…)
